Assalaamu Alaykum- Peace Be With You!
For Muslims, Jummah (Friday) is a big day; it's when we gather for our weekly sermon and prayer. If you've ever been curious to observe and learn more about what it's like, now is your chance! Please join us on Friday, October 30th at 1:15 pm for our 2nd Annual Bring a Friend to Jummah, an open invitation to our weekly Muslim prayer service, followed by lunch. The Jummah Khutbah (Friday Prayer sermon) will be conducted by Imam Niaz Hannan, the Muslim Chaplain at Drexel University. Prayer will be held in Cooper Dining Hall, opposite the Douglass Student Center (it's the building with the green roof!). After the prayer, a halaqah (discussion) will be led by Amira Quraishi, Muslim Chaplain at Wellesley College, and we'll serve lunch shortly thereafter. This event is free! Come take part in the Jummah prayer experience and see what it's all about. All are welcome to our community gathering, regardless of religious background/affiliation. |
